2019/20 Season Void

20 June 2020

As you are probably all aware, the FA declared all grassroots football seasons finished for the 2019/20 season back in March. Of course this came as a disappointment, particularly with our Men's First Team on course to achieve promotion to the Perry Street Premier Division, but it was a sensible decision and the only practical option given the current circumstances.

The FA have not made an announcement as to when next season at our level will start. Officially, we are still planning for a September league start, and the Perry Street League AGM was held last week. It was confirmed that last season's results and standings are declared void, as are the Cup competitions. No decision has been made as yet on the constitution of divisions for next season. This will be discussed at a Special General Meeting once the start date for next season is announced, as it is too uncertain at the moment to know how many teams all Clubs will ultimately enter.

At this stage there are no team withdrawals in the PSDL. 5 new teams have entered; Perry Street 1sts and 2nds, Barrington, Merriott Rovers Reserves and Drimpton. The Somerset FA and PSDL have been good in announcing free affiliation and cup entry for next season that will help recover some of the financial losses from this season.
We're working on plans to have a phased return to training, for those that want to, in July. Please keep an eye on our social media pages for more information.
Stay safe everyone. #UTR
